Vehicle Storage spaces needed, OR Crusaders Drum & Bugle Corps. Aug 2009

    Posted on September 29th, 2009

The executive director of the Oregon Crusaders Drum and Bugle Corps, who performed at the bridge opening, lives on Gillihan Road. The Corps just got back yesterday from competing across the United States and came in fourth (WOW!) in the open class division at the Drum Corps International competition in Indiana. This is the best finish in the history of the Oregon Crusaders. With just 62 students, they competed against 29 other corps. Oregon and the Pacific Northwest should be proud of this group of dedicated kids and instructors. It is quite an endeavor to prepare and move a group this size across country. It all starts with weekend camps in the fall of each year and culminates with a two week trip to nationals.
Long story short, this group needs a place to store their trailers that is close and convenient for them. Sauvie Island would be perfect if someone had space for one 45-foot trailer, one 24-foot trailer, one 15 passenger van and one 10 -foot trailer. They don’t all have to go to the same spot. If possible, one trailer needs a receptacle to keep the dehumidifier running. If you can store these vehicles or know of someone who might be able to store them, please call Phil Marshall at 503-701-7528. Thanks

SI School Students selling local Portland Entertainment books, 29 Sep 2009

    Posted on September 29th, 2009

    Hello, SI Neighbors.

Sauvie Island School is off to another great year. We are so blessed to have such a wonderful community school and support from our neighbors!

The students at Sauvie Island School are selling the local Portland Entertainment books for $20/book. If you frequently purchase an Entertainment book and would be interested in supporting our fundraising efforts, please consider one of the following choices:
    1. Contact any student that you know or live near to order a book.
    2. Stop by the school between 9 am and 3 pm to purchase a book.
    3. Email me here and I will arrange a delivery to your home.

All proceeds will be used to purchase a document camera and projector for the 3rd/4th and 5th /6th grade rooms….technology that changes the way our teachers will present information. (very exciting)

If you have questions, please email them to me. If you wish to be removed from this email list, let me know.

    Sincerely,
    Kathy Stephenson
