Blue Heron Herbary

Our secret garden is located on Sauvie Island, between the Mulnomah Channel and the Columbia River. The herbal knot garden is 75 by 140 feet and contains over 300 varieties of herbs. It is located in a natural setting that is visited by songbirds, bees and butterflies. As it is bordered by a wildlife area, bald eagles, waterfowl, herons and cranes abound.

See Herbs growing in a natural setting as part of a landscape. Some of the sections are: Asian, Mediterranean, Tea, Medicinal and, of course, Shakespearean. We specialize in having unusual herbs both in the garden and on our sales benches There are lavender plants in every size and color.

Plants are available from mid-March through Halloween. We carry medicinal, culinary, potpourri and everlasting herbs in 4in, and gallon sizes. Potted windowsill gardens, herb-planted strawberry pots, and bay plants are available.
Scented Geraniums are the Herb of the Year 2006 Scented geraniums are available in varied scents: lemon, rose, lime, chocolate, peppermint, apple, pine and many others.
