Recycling Reminders
- The Sauvie Island Volunteer Fire Department operates the newspaper and magazine recycling bin located across Sauvie Island Rd from the Douglas’s home near the big white barn. Paper only; no other items please.
- The Sauvie Island Community School operates a co-mingling recycling bin in the parking lot located behind the school. Recycling items to include the following CLEAN items:
- Cardboard; flattened, any weight and up to 36″ in any direction; (no wax-coated or pizza boxes)
- Paper; telephone books, brown bags, scrap paper & junk mail, envelopes w/windows
- Containers; milk jugs & other gable-top containers, plastic bottles, jars & tubs (NO CLAMSHELL FOOD CONTAINERS)
- Scrap metal; no more than 30″ in any direction or 30 lbs in weight; remove any rubber, plastic or other material
