Purpose: The Multnomah County Rural Fire District #30 serves Sauvie Island from a station on Sauvie Island Road with a fire-fighting and emergency response force consisting of 40 volunteers. This fire and emergency response force serves Sauvie Island residents and the over-1 million visitors per year who visit Sauvie Island--putting an additional strain on the District's resources above that put upon most rural fire protection forces.
