Sauvie Island Wildlife Area

11,543 acres of state-owned habitat for wintering waterfowl, swans, herons, sandhill cranes, bald eagles and over 250 other species. Access is restricted during hunting season and spring. Fishing is allowed. Picnicking and other day-use activities are allowed provided they do not conflict with fish and wildlife needs. Sites are not developed for these uses, drinking water is not available, and restrooms are primitive.

Directions: Take Hwy. 30 to the Sauvie Island Bridge. After crossing the bridge, stay on NW Sauvie Island Road for about two miles. Stay left at the “Y” intersection. The wildlife area headquarters is on the right about 1/4 mile past the “Y” intersection.
