SICA 2016 Board Nominee Bios

Kerri-Lynn Primmer Morris: new nominee

Kerri-Lynn currently holds the position of Executive Director of Human Resources Technology and Experience for Kaiser Permanente. Throughout her career in program management and organizational change, her focus has been on applying information technology to meet business objectives and gain specific process improvement. As a resident of Sauvie Island with three children, Kerri-Lynn is passionate about living in a connected community, and was one of the founders of Sauvie Island Academy. Kerri-Lynn is a Summa Cum Laude, Phi Beta Kappa graduate of The Catholic University of America, with a Bachelors Degree in Biology.

I would like to be a member of the Sauvie Island Community Association board to apply my skills to help us continue to develop as a connected community. Our community relationships are so important for our success and our happiness. This is an amazing place and I feel so lucky to be raising my children in this environment.

Linda Klarquist: up for re-election

I have served on the board for the past few years and look forward to continuing as a board member. I am a retired middle school counselor. I am married to Skip Klarquist, and am the mother of three boys, and am grandmother to two boys—soon to be three!

I’ve lived on the island for ll years, and love the sense of community we have here! My interests include traveling, gardening, reading and enjoying time spent with family and friends.

Grey Horton: up for re-election

I am seeking a position on the SICA board because I believe I can help maintain the health of our community and country lifestyle in the short and long term. We face external and internal pressures regarding land use, road use, wildlife habitat, tourism, community connectedness, and economic vitality. I believe that as a board member I can help guide us to a more harmonious and prosperous future.

I have an extensive education in horticulture and I have been farming vegetables on the Island for the last four years. My family has been on the Island since the early 50’s (the Givens and Margret Swanson). As a Grange member, farmer, resident, and former city dweller, I think my experiences give me an understanding of many points of view. I have also served on several nonprofit and club boards. I look forward to the challenges of maintaining our rural life and character while reinforcing our community ties.

John Houle: up for re-election

John and his family has lived on the island since 1993; their home on Gillihan Road is locally known as the Shield’s Place.  John has served as a Community Association board member since 2011. Prior to that time he served as a Fire Department First Responder volunteer and as a committee advisor to the Sauvie Island Drainage Company. John is a professional Civil Engineer and Water Rights Examiner. He continues to seek ways to contribute to the health and vitality of this community and this place that he and his family call home.  He would be honored to again serve this community as an Association Board member.
